Panic or Peace; Preservation or Prevention?

With how much uncertainty has been created around this present time, we are faced with an opportunity of perspective. If we focus on the negatives, we can easily be overcome with fear and anxiety that leaves us crippled rather than empowered and educated. Words of wisdom in a time of uncertainty go like this: do not be misinformed or uninformed, check the sources in which you are receiving your information from, but most importantly, do not check out from having faith. There is something bigger at play here. Take this time to really focus on things that you DO have and are GRATEFUL for; spend quality time with those you are immediately surrounded with; and let this time be an investment in growing in the areas you know where change is overdue. Where we focus our time and energy during this period, can make or break how we come out of this.

What a blessing it is to know what health is and the body’s ability to heal. Instead of operating out of fear to preserve quality of life and health, remember that you are empowered with tools of prevention to help you equip your nervous system to perform at an optimum. When we switch from peace to panic, we internally shut off our calming centers, driving up our sympathetic response, increasing our cortisol levels, and decreasing our immune response. When we resonate with peace, our body can manage stress and respond appropriately to different stimuli that may portray a threat to our homeostasis.

Life is ever changing. Finding peace in the inconveniences and learning to be adaptable will serve you best in this season. Most things are out of our immediate control, but that is okay. Focus on what you can control and what you can grow in. Remember to stay calm, practice gratitude, and stay positive and focused on something you are working towards outside of this immediate circumstance.
